Protean Power

India has always been a good team at home and even the invincible Australians found it very difficult to beat the Men in Blue at their own den. But, the Proteans seem to be finding it amazingly easy to beat the Indians. They are, by far the only team which has never lost a test series in India and the funny fact is that the Proteas are considered to be poor players of spin bowling. The first test at Chennai was a belter of a wicket in which we saw Sehwag, Amla, Mckenzie and Dravid hit tons and the match ended in a tame draw.

The  2nd test at Ahmedabad concluded yesterday with the Proteans emerging victorious by beating the Men in blue comprehensively by an innings and 90 odd runs. India faced the humiliation of being bowled out for a paltry 76 in the first innings and Steyn was the wrecker-in-chief. The irony was that the 20-20 champs were bowled out in exactly 20 overs in the 1st innings. Kallis and De Villiers plundered delighting tons and GAnguly couldn’t wage a lone battle.

The 3rd test in Kanpur starts in a couple of days time.  Watch out for all the action only on Neo Sports.
